Athletic Code of Conduct

Posted on 02/28/2024

Participation in athletic programs in Bloomfield Hills Schools is considered an honor and a privilege that entails an obligation by students to an individual school, the District and the community. This Code is in effect year round (12 months) and participants are expected to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner at all times, including functions that occur outside of school. The Bloomfield Hills Schools Athletic Code of Conduct has been developed and implemented to provide a common set of rules for all students participating in athletics. The Athletic Code of Conduct deals with specific violations that should be applied within every program; however, the code is not intended to be all-inclusive. If no penalty is listed in the code, the coach has the authority to determine the penalty (consistent with the philosophy of the Code).

What are the odds? Six million to one! Black Hawk JV golfer, Lucas Dostal (grade 9), beat the odds by shooting a hole-in-one on a par 4, Hole #17 on the Hudson Mills Metropark Golf Course! This is referred to as an “albatross” or a “double eagle” in golf terminology. In addition to this awesome achievement, Dostal led the team to take first place in the tournament. Congratulations Lucas and the Black Hawk golfers! Our JV Teams, came in First and Fourth in a 24 team field.   On Varsity, Leo Bugajewski carved out a 2 under par 70 to win Individual Honors for the day.   Varsity came in 2nd with a 309 out of 20 teams!!!!

Our team shook off mid-40's temps, combined with 30 mph winds and rain thrown in for good measure the first day with Asher Langwell posting a 78, coupled with a 79, 81, and 84 by Ryan Rose, Dominik Dostal, and Leo Bugajewski.  The day concluded with a strong team meeting and a commitment for even a better performance on Saturday. We woke up Saturday, to milder temps and the sun finally showed up to dry out the course. Dominik and Leo posted 76 and 77, followed by great scores of an 81 by Joe Dillon and an 83 by Asher. Our guys went out and posted a team score of 320, coupled with the first day of 330 to come in a solid 4th out of 15 teams.

After 5 hours and one solar eclipse, 9 birdies and a team score of 312 we came in 9th place today.  We were led by outstanding level headed golf by Asher Langwell, who posted at 74, followed by Madden Gunsberg with a 78 and Joe Dillon with an 80.
